Course Description
The medical physics course syllabus is designed to train students on the techniques & concepts of physics in medicine. It uses physics concepts and procedures in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease. Medical Physics fulfils a key role in medicine, biological and medical research, and in the optimization of certain health-related activities. One is manipulating physical objects with forces when doing physical therapy. The methods of physics are useful in understanding how much force a patient is able to exert or in measuring a range of motion. It provides excellent career opportunities to individuals once they complete the course.
Course Objectives
- Demonstrate a conceptual understanding of fundamental physics principles.
- To demonstrate knowledge of the theoretical and practical basis of medical physics in physical therapy.
- Demonstrate clinical evaluation, treatment planning and implementation.
- Integrate knowledge of basic sciences, in order to modify treatment approaches that reflect the scope of practice.
- Demonstrate effective clinical decision-making skills
